She grew up in a culture of patriarchal values. Her marriage allowed her to experience the pain of being mocked and abused, and later had to take care of two young children alone. Through learning to find, recognize and value the voice of the Lord, she received the abundant life given by God: full of the Holy Spirit, financial prosperity, strong physique, and a loving relationship. She has all this, not by any of her own excellent wisdom and abilities, but by the grace of the most good God.
